Firefox 103.0 New Features and Improvements

Accessing the toolbar using the keyboard

Mozilla has expanded keyboard access to the toolbar in Firefox 103. Pressing the Tab key or Shift-Tab cycles between different groups in Firefox toolbars and now even on the web page. Once in the group, users can use the left and right arrow keys on the keyboard to navigate the group. Pressing Space or Enter will activate the toolbar button.

Here are all the shortcuts available in the overview:

  • Tab – Go to the group to the right of the current group.
  • Shift-Tab – Moves to the group to the left of the current group.
  • Right arrow key – Moves to the next item of the active group.
  • Left arrow key – Moves to the previous item of the active group.
  • Space – to activate the active icon.
  • Enter – to activate the active code.
  • F6 – Return to the web page.
  • Ctrl-L – Focus the browser’s address bar.
  • Shift-F10 – Access buttons context menus.

  3. Find your preferred browser browser.toolbars.keyboard_navigation.
  4. Activate the toggle to set the preference to FALSE.
