A man was arrested by the police while trying to jump from the 31st floor of a building under construction in Lembah Sireh in Kota Bharu, near here this morning.
Tumpat District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Amran Dolah said, the results of further examination found that the 26 -year -old suspect was an individual who reportedly stabbed his wife and mother -in -law at their house in Chabang Empat, here, yesterday afternoon.
According to him, the suspect who worked as a lorry driver was arrested at 10.14am this morning as soon as he received information related to individuals who wanted to jump off the building.
“A check was made and found that the man was related to the case of causing injuries that were reported. At 6.35pm yesterday, the suspect stabbed his wife and mother-in-law in their 20s and 60s respectively with two knives in their home.
The incident is believed to be due to a misunderstanding between the suspect and his wife which caused the two victims to be rushed to the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital (HRPZ II), Kota Bharu due to serious injuries.
“The suspect’s wife suffered cracks and wounds on the head, broken two fingers and wounds on several parts of the body while his mother -in -law had wounds on the head as a result of being stabbed by the suspect,” he said in a statement here today.
Amran said the suspect had three previous drug records and a remand application would be made tomorrow.
He said the case was investigated according to Section 326 of the Penal Code (KK).
