LONDON-Suzuki racer Alex Rins is rumored to be finalizing his future after being rumored to be joining the LCR Honda team for the 2023 season.
The LCR Honda team is rumored to be undergoing a major overhaul, including replacing two of its riders, Alex Marquez and Takaaki Nakagami, who seem to be struggling with their respective performances.
It is understood that Rins has had a second discussion with the team based in Monte Carlo, Monaco and the result is showing something positive.
However, Rins’ arrival to LCR will depend on Honda’s approval which will determine the rider line-up of its satellite team and financial factors will also be a major factor in the selection.
Previously, Honda Team Leader Alberto Puig confirmed that his party had been in contact with two Suzuki riders, Alex Rins and Joan Mir.
“Honda has spoken to two Suzuki riders. They contacted us after word spread about the future of their team,” said Puig.
Rins is expected to replace Alex Marquez after looking still struggling with his performances this season.
The fate of Takaaki Nakagami is also uncertain after young Japanese star Ai Ogura is rumored to be replacing him at LCR Honda next season. – AGENCY
