Bank Rakyat Foundation donates RM100,000 in school aid

PETALING JAYA – Bank Rakyat Foundation (YBR) provided school assistance of RM100,000 to elementary and middle school students in Melaka.

The chairman of YBR, Datuk Wira Megat Zulkarnain Omardin said that the assistance, especially for students from the low-income group B40, was distributed around Tangga Batu, Melaka City and Asahan.

According to him, as many as 1,000 elementary and high school students received assistance through the program.

“This donation is expected to help especially the B40 families to provide school supplies in terms of purchasing sets of clothes, shoes and socks or school bags.

“School assistance in the form of RM100 cash was also provided to help parents or guardians cover school fees during the transition to endemic phase,” he said in a statement today.

He added that the assistance distributed was expected to provide an injection of enthusiasm for the students involved to continue studying.

To date, a total of 60,558 students have received benefits involving an allocation of RM6.72 million since 2018.

For 2022, a total of RM3 million is earmarked for the school aid program. – COSMO! ON LINE
