LONDON (Reuters) – British Prime Minister Boris Johnson looks set to suffer a crushing defeat in parliamentary elections on Friday as the Liberal Democrats claim a “historic victory” in what has been the Conservative seat safe from Tiverton and Honiton.
“It looks like a clear win. The people of Tiverton and Honiton have spoken for the country,” a Liberal Democrat spokesman said. Official results have yet to be announced.
“This is a historic victory for the Liberal Democrats and a crushing blow to the Conservative MPs who continue to prop up Boris Johnson.”
