INDONESIATODAY.CO.ID, Member of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Guspardi Gaus, said that a more proactive breakthrough was needed between election organizers and local governments in consolidating and synergizing in preparation for the 2024 General Election.
“It is also necessary to match the data in the local government with the data on the Permanent Voters List (DPT) owned by the General Elections Commission (KPU),” said Guspardi, quoted in a written statement, Wednesday (13/7/2022).
Efforts to follow up, Guspardi appealed to all local governments and KPUDs to pay attention to the problem of population data in preparation for the 2024 elections that will take place soon.
“Usually the problems that arise are not much different from the previous elections and elections which started from recording e-KTP,” he said.
Guspardi said that there were a number of population data problems, such as the issuance of electronic identity cards (KTP) amid the limited availability of electronic ID cards.
For this reason, Guspardi also hopes that if there is a shortage of e-KTP forms, the provincial government will immediately report it to the central government.
“Because the Ministry of Home Affairs through the director general of Dukcapil has guaranteed the availability of electronic Identity Card (e-KTP) forms,” the PAN politician added.
On that occasion, Guspardi also gave a message and asked the KPUD to anticipate and minimize various problems that will arise related to the preparation for the 2024 election.
“There are also problems that arise regarding the voter list, such as data on residents who have died, changed addresses, novice voters, marital status, retired TNI/Polri. Considering that the election stage has started on June 14, 2022,” he concluded.
